About Melanie Mueller Mediation
HELPING YOU MOVE FORWARD
Meet Melanie
I am Melanie, a certified family mediator and an elder mediator in training. With over a decade of experience in family mediation, I understand the multi-faceted challenges during separation and divorce. I feel deeply committed to helping individuals and their families navigate conflict constructively and respectfully. Being a certified family mediator means that I have vigorous training in governing family laws, the effects of separation and divorce on adults and children, cultural considerations, substance abuse and family violence. My education is however only the foundation to meeting you with warmth, empathy and the understanding that you are reaching out in a difficult time.

My journey into mediation began with a legal background; I hold a law degree from Germany, and after moving to Vancouver in 1998, I discovered my dedication for mediation. I found employment with the Attorney General and worked as an appointed family mediator within the court system for many years. After taking a leave of absence from my work to raise my own children, I am excited to return to my profession and bring positive changes to your family. During my work with families I also discovered a passion to assist families facing concerns involving older adult family members. I have spent the last two years learning about all aspects involving older adults, such as will and estate planning, health care and end of life decisions. I strongly believe that families can benefit greatly from having conversations guided by a mediator, and ensure that all voices are heard. I am looking forward to meeting you to my practice and explore how to address your current concerns with the prospect of healing and moving on.

"Resolution starts with conversation. Mediation empowers you to take control, find clarity, and build a path forward, together."

My Mission:
Guiding You
Toward Resolution
In my many years of practice I have seen how emotionally and financially draining court proceedings can be, and often not leading to the outcomes you desire.
My role is to facilitate open communication, ensuring that every voice is heard while guiding families toward agreements that are fair, lasting, and in the best interests of everyone involved.
Mediation offers a cost-effective, restorative alternative to court, where you are in control of the outcome.
The Principles That Drive My Mediation
How I Guide the Mediation Process
As your mediator, I am here to give each party the space to fully express their frustrations as well as their hopes and wishes for their children in the future. I believe that conflict often derives from unhealthy communication patterns, and see it as my job to help you discover new, more effective ways to communicate.
With a maximum of five clients per month, I offer personalized attention to help families:
-
Explore the root of your conflict.
-
Improve communication and understanding
-
Develop agreements that reflect your needs and priorities.
If the above appeals to you, or you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
